Give her her flowers now. NC Native Justine Lindsay has a smile that could light up the room. The 29 year old professional dancer is a member of the cheerleading squad that supports the Carolina Panthers, the TopCats.

Justine sent her followers into a frenzy in March when she announced on Instagram that she had been accepted as a member of the TopCats. Justine thanked everyone who supported and believed in her on this long journey to fulfil her dream. A dream that once seemed impossible.

“Cats Out the Bag you are looking at the newest member of the Carolina Panthers TopCats Cheerleader’s @topcats as the first Transgender female l. I would like to thank the beautiful and talented dancers who supported me along the way alumni TopCats family and friends for your love and support. I would not have gotten to this moment in my life if it wasn’t for the support. Also to my beautiful coach @chandalaelanouette you are a special being that I truly cherish thank you taking that leap of faith on me to be apart of your legacy and so many others. This is a moment I will never forget and I cannot wait to show you all what this girl has to bring. Thank you @topcats a dream come true.”

Buzzfeed interviewed Justine shortly after the announcement back in March. She told the outlet “I’m happy because I was able to break down that door and tell people, ‘Hey, we are not just sexual beings. We are actual human beings who want to better ourselves.’ I felt like, Why not tell the world: ‘Hey, listen, this is a great accomplishment.”

Justine is truly an inspiration.

Thank you Justine for having the audacity to go for what you believe in. Even though you had no representation you still went forward and broke through that glass ceiling to come out on top. We at ETCH support you and are looking forward to seeing more of your journey.

Lindsay will be celebrating her 30th birthday on September 19th. Huge accomplishment and all before the tender age of 30.
